This is definitely going to be my go-to synth for a long time to come. I honestly can't think of any gripes or niggles. And the low-ish CPU hit is just more icing on the cake. Altogether, this is one amazing, inspiring, instrument - in my opinion it really is better than an y other VST synth out there. What is more noticeable are the thousands of new sounds that are available and the improved, faster, interface, which also seems more clear and spacious. For the most part, synths tend to have differing routing, modulation options, osc blending, which effects the sound building process. I think that overall, the sound quality of O2 is just a little better than O1. The synths listed in the OP could not be any further from each other except: Falcon and Halion, Pigments and Massive X may be interchangeable. Assuming that you are familiar with Omnisphere 1, I've got some very good news: the upgrade process is really smooth Omnisphere 2 works really well with my DAW, Ableton - VST -, and best of all, the sounds that I used for all my projects are perfectly preserved, including the ones that I've created by myself. There is such a lot to discover and explore. I've had the Omnisphere 2 upgrade for about a month now I'm still getting to grips with it. Nexus kinda gives you no options besides the sounds themselves and they give you less of them. Omnisphere has so many more options to tweak the sounds and you can sort them way easier. Countless new sound design possibilities with advanced instrument behavior and custom script modules Omnisphere is way better in my opinion, I have both too so I’m not biased. A next-generation wavetable synthesizer with groundbreaking editing and analysis tools leaves nothing to be desired.
